{"id":4313,"date":"2018-05-14T12:22:11","date_gmt":"2018-05-14T06:52:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.cebeu.lk\/cebeuw\/?p=4313"},"modified":"2018-05-14T12:22:11","modified_gmt":"2018-05-14T06:52:11","slug":"ct-power-crisis-likely","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cebeu.lk\/?p=4313","title":{"rendered":"CT &#8211; Power crisis likely"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Niranjala Ariyawansha<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) has warned that the country would have to face a severe power crisis if the ongoing work-to-rule campaign, by CEB Engineers\u2019 Union (CEBEU), continues.<\/p>\n<p>CEB General Manager A.K. Samarasinghe said the situation could aggravate due to the resistance, by the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL), to its Power Generation Plan.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe cannot go on like this. The majority in the CEB management are engineers. Hence, the current issue has become rather complex,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He however said there were no power outages reported thus far due to the work-to-rule and therefore the public had not been inconvenienced as yet.<\/p>\n<p>He however warned that the public will face severe problems if any of the power stations were to breakdown.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf a power station malfunctions, we will need the expertise of the engineers.
