PM unaware of engineers’ objection to LNG power plants

No public officer could object to the government’s move to solve the power crisis by setting up Liquefied Neutral Gas (LNG) power plants said Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe in Parliament yesterday.

He said that he was not aware that the Engineers’ trade unions in the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) had opposed LNG plants in Sri Lanka. He added that even the Power and Renewable Energy Minister had informed him of such a situation in the CEB. READ MORE…
