Dear members and area reps,
As you all know, long awaited approval for LCLTGEP was given by the PUCSL on 20th July 2017. However, much to our dismay, the PUCSL has approved a revised plan in which not a single coal power plant is included. This decision of the PUCSL is neither acceptable to the CEB nor the CEBEU as we all can imagine its repercussions. If this decision needs to be reversed, both parties have to exert pressure on the PUCSL.
In order to discuss this matter and decide on actions, the CEBEU calls a special EXCO meeting at 4.30 pm on 26th July 2017 at RCL, BMICH. All members and area reps are kindly requested to participate in this special meeting.
As you are aware that Accountants have filled THREE new FR cases (1. Three Accountants; Mr. Nihal Fernando, Mr. Dayananda Wijeweera, Mr. Tissa Kumara 2. A lawyer on behalf of Accountants, 3. By all the Accountants.) against the Unified Engineering Service recently.
Further to that, the ongoing Writ Application filed by Lanka Vidhuli Podhu Sevaka Sangamaya to Freeze the “Salary increase” of Engineers is also progressing at the Court of Appeal.
As proposed at the AGM held on August 05, 2016, Rs. 5000/= to be collected from each of the CEBEU Member to raise the legal fund as the first initiative. Therefore please handover your contribution to the Area Representative at earliest.
